Overview

Our modern understanding of the nature of genetics began in an obscure garden in Moravia–an country that no longer exists–with an obscure monk who taught the equivalent of high school science. Here we look carefully at the structure of his experiments and their immediate results.

Activities

  1. Read Sections 14.1 and 14.2 in the textbook.
  2. Download Lecture 2.1 slides.
  3. Do one of the following:
    1. In-person section: Attend lecture 2.1.
    2. Online section: Watch the following videos:
      1. Video 2.1.1, Generative Fluid.
      2. video 2.1.2, Mendel’s Results.
  4. Complete the questions in Study Guide 2.1.

Assessment

After completing the activities, log into Canvas, launch BIO 181 and complete Lec 2.1 Quiz.
